Refresher Scuba Course

This is a non-certification program for certified divers which affords supervised refresher experience at the Scuba Diver level for divers who need to re-establish proficiency due to diving inactivity.

Topics covered in a Refresher include: 

• review of scuba equipment,
• review of dive science (gas laws and physiology),
• dive planning (computer/dive tables),
• pre- and post-dive skills,
• entries,
• descent/ascent skills,
• underwater skills, and
• rescue/problem solving skills.

Minimum age for participation is 10 years of age for certified Junior Scuba Divers or 15 years of age for certified Scuba Divers. Participants must be in good physical condition to enroll in a Refresher course and must be certified as a NAUI Scuba Diver or the equivalent.  

Participants must have a NAUI Scuba Diver certification card or the equivalent to show at the beginning of the refresher or must provide the necessary information for New Orleans Scuba to verify certification at the time of scheduling the refresher. Participants must have their own personal dive equipment (fins, booties if using open heel fins, soft weights, mask, snorkel, wetsuit-optional). New Orleans Scuba will provide a BC, regulator, and tank for use during confined water session. 

The fee for a Refresher Scuba course is $200.00.
